Word[im]Press[ive]

I had the privilege of attending Wordcamp last weekend with my friend, Susan, of Q Digital Studio. I was totally and thoroughly impressed with WordPress‘s flexibility and accessibility. I’m excited to revamp my own blog (yes, the one you’re looking at – sorry, Blogger), but also to explore WordPress as an option for e-Commerce sites and other semi-complex-to-build sites (at least for me). I can sense the benefits of open source code. I don’t understand it well enough yet, but there’s this excitement bubbling in my brain because I believe that once I do get over this learning curve, I’m going to boldy go where I’ve never gone before. It’s like the day, the hour, the moment in school when Photoshop made sense. In that moment, I knew I could do it. The world looks different after these moments.

Hurry up, brain!

I was also impressed/intimidated by the other designers and programmers! These people actually speak code. Trying keeping up with them while they’re setting up a new widget! There’s this whole world out there of people that make things happen with strings of text. I love it. Love it!
