While traveling through Venice last month, I was struck by the Islamic influence on the city’s architecture. Such lovely peaks and curves, so unique to that culture.

Today, I made a pattern from the doodles I did on the train from Venice to Florence. Introducing “Venice.”

Talk to me if you’d like to use this pattern somewhere.
The lovely pattern, Elizabeth, is now available for purchase on Alluminare.com!
Elizabeth is a lace-inspired pattern, named for the queen herself. Dainty, but regal, she holds her head high in either large or small scale.
They just started carrying these awesome table lamps. I love the shape!
Here is Elizabeth, as custom fabric:
Elegant and sweet, I love this vaguely damask-y, lacy pattern! Always such an honor to be listed as one of Alluminare’s World Class Designers.
Not at all a coincidence, I sent the pattern in on the Queen’s official birthday, April 22. Happy birthday!
A client asked me to work on some leather labels – oh so fun. I love tangible art! He asked me to take his current logo and either update it or create something around it that was fancy/biker/western within the established oval. I enjoyed this one a lot.
So here’s what I came up with during Round I. (And yes, it is marginally terrifying to show the world my proofs.)
I’ve been working extrariffic-hard on a project, to the point of near brain burst, so when SparkyFirePants posted this contest today, I couldn’t resist the diversion. I’ll show you what I sent in, but let me show you the progression.
Here’s his original photo:

I cut him out:

I made a pattern with him:

Then I thought, well, hm, that’s sure boring. And kind of obvious. Let’s be different. And then I noticed the shapes created by the Not David parts were kind of… cool. And we have our pattern.

Wah-lah! I think it kind of looks like chandeliers hanging up-side down and right-side up.
I threw this together today for the Tigerprint Love Typography contest. It’s all font-based, meaning, I didn’t draw any of it. The flowers are a dingbat, and I used a couple fonts for the text. I haven’t manipulated a font in a long time, so this was fun.
“My One And Only Love” is the title of a song that reminds me of my husband, who was the inspiration for this piece. I used a combination of bold and neutral colors, to represent the bright, happy times as well as the soft and quiet times in a marriage. The letters interweave in certain places, and stand alone in others, to represent the way our lives are intertwined, yet unique and different.
I entered the Spoonflower Boba Baby Carrier fabric contest with a new leafy love pattern. I would be so honored if you would please vote for me!

Boojie, a new pattern collection, was inspired by a friend’s adorable baby girl. Available for license. Coming soon to Spoonflower.
